NUCCA Chiropractic

Chiropractic treatments are primarily applied to the spinal region, not just the back and neck areas. While we can quickly and effectively eliminate back and neck pain, our purpose and objective is to restore and optimize your health for feeling fit and energetic, no matter what stage of life you are in!

Practically speaking, chiropractors are primarily concerned with locating and treating vertebral subluxations. A vertebral subluxation is a complex of functional and/or structural and/or pathological articular (joint) changes that compromise neural integrity and may influence organ system function and general health.

Chiropractors use many specialized techniques to identify and treat these spinal abnormalities and optimize overall health. In addition to spinal adjustive techniques, soft tissue techniques such as massage, dietary and nutritional counseling, physical therapies, and lifestyle modification programs are commonly employed.

NUCCA is an acronym for the National Upper Cervical Chiropractic Association. The upper cervical part of your body is the joint that is formed by the head and the first two bones in the neck underneath your skull.

NUCCA spinal corrections are only carried out by doctors who are members of the NUCCA organization. NUCCA chiropractic care is very different from traditional chiropractic adjustments as NUCCA corrections are very gentle, specific, and long lasting. Additionally, they require no harsh twisting, popping, or cracking of the spinal joints. NUCCA corrections result in a careful and gentle whole body realignment of the weight bearing joints in your body from the head and neck, to the low back and hips, down your knees and ankles.

Why is your spine out of alignment? How can your joints become out of place if you exercise and take care of your body?

Repeated use of the same joint, accidents, falls, and injuries loosen the connective tissue that holds the spine in alignment. As a result, your body is now twisting in an unnatural fashion that creates abnormal wear and tear on the body framework.

In addition to the specific joint that is affected, every weight-bearing joint from the head down through to the hips knees and ankles will attempt to compensate for this imbalance, creating further trauma to your body.
